The LCBO has been an international leader in reducing beverage alcohol container waste for close to a decade. Our lightweight glass bottle initiative has reduced annual waste by six million kilograms.

With the LCBO’s funding of the Ontario Deposit Return Program and municipal curbside Blue Box programs, we are ensuring that more than 93 per cent of the bottles and cans we generate are recycled and kept away from landfills.

With more than 660 stores, the LCBO is an industry leader in recycling and sustainability programs. The initiatives we’ve implemented have decreased store waste by 60 per cent.
