Old Fashioned

Describing something as “old-fashioned” isn’t always a compliment. But for this cocktail, it’s the highest form of flattery. Classic, simple and delicious, this drink is a true original.
Makes 1 cocktail
1 sugar cube or 1 tsp granulated sugar
3 dashes Angostura® bitters
Splash club soda or water
2 oz rye whisky or bourbon
1 strip lemon or orange zest, for garnish
Place sugar cube in bottom of a chilled old fashioned glass. Saturate sugar with bitters. Add soda. Muddle sugar with bitters until dissolved. Fill glass with ice. Add whisky and stir well. Garnish with lemon zest.
