How many times a year is Food & Drink published, and when is the next publication date?

Food & Drink publishes five issues a year: Spring, Early Summer, Summer, Autumn and Holiday.

Our publication dates for 2024:
Spring –  March 20nd, 2024
Early Summer – May 8th, 2024
Summer  –  June 26th, 2024
Autumn – September 4th, 2024
Holiday – November 6th, 2024
(As of 2018, we are no longer publishing a Winter issue.)

While all LCBO stores receive copies of each issue, quantities are limited. We recommend visiting your local store as close as possible to the release date to obtain a copy.

Can I read Food & Drink online?

You can read PDF issues of Food & Drink from Autumn 2015 onwards online.

You can also download digital issues to your smartphone or tablet through the free LCBO Food & Drink Magazine app. Look for it in your app store.

Does Food & Drink have a newsletter?

Food & Drink does not have a dedicated newsletter, but by subscribing to the myLCBO newsletter, you will receive early digital access to the latest issue.

Can I subscribe to Food & Drink?

We do offer a subscription service for mail delivery of the magazine anywhere in North America. Here is our subscription information.

The cost of an annual subscription to Food & Drink magazine is:
$33.90 ($30.00 + HST) for Canadian residents
$45.00 (Canadian dollars) for U.S. residents
(These amounts represent the costs of shipping and handling, and do not generate profits for the LCBO.)

Cheques or money orders must be made payable to “LCBO.”
(Unfortunately, we cannot accept credit cards as a form of payment. Do not send cash in mail.)

If you would like to send a subscription to a friend as a gift, you can be their gift donor, meaning you will receive the renewal notice at the end of their subscription with the option to renew on their behalf. If you wish to purchase a gift subscription, please specify this along with your payment, and be sure to include your full name, address and other contact info.

The French version of Food & Drink, À Bon Verre, Bonne Table, is available in select LCBO stores and online. À Bon Verre, Bonne Table is not available in all stores. For more information, please contact helloLCBO.

Employment Opportunity Questions

Are you hiring writers, photographers or stylists? Do you accept freelance work?

All our contributors — including photographers, editors, stylists, recipe developers and writers — are on contract with the LCBO. As a government agency, the LCBO is required to post RFPs for services on biddingo.com. Only successful applicants to RFPs can be added to our vendor pools and are able to work on LCBO projects, including Food & Drink, Vintages Release Catalogues and other LCBO advertising materials.

Can I work in your test kitchen?

Food & Drink does not have an in-house test kitchen. Our recipe developers are on contract with the LCBO and test recipes in their own kitchens.
