Light and Easy
Choosing a drink that has less sugar or alcohol does not mean you have to sacrifice on taste. Here, we have some tips about mixing lighter cocktails, as well as more information about what a lighter choice means. Plus, we offer 1000+ lighter wine, beer and cooler products, which means we have something for everyone.
Did You Know?
Here’s a handy fact: if you’re interested in a wine with 5 grams of sugar or less per litre, look for one from a region with cool climates. You’ll find the g/L sugar content listed right on the website description or on the store shelf label. And if you’re interested in a wine with a lower alcohol content, look for a “light” wine. Regular wine usually contains 13 to 14% alcohol by volume, whereas light wine has 9% or less. You’ll find the alcohol content (% alc./vol.) listed on the product label on the store shelf and on the product's website description on LCBO.com.
Did You Know?
A light beer has 2.6 to 4% alcohol by volume, an extra-light beer has 1.1 to 2.5%, a low-alcohol beer has less than 1.1%, whereas a non-alc brew is less than 0.5%. Some brewers use dealcoholization to remove the alcohol from the finished product, whereas others reduce or prevent the alcohol from being formed in the first place.
