The Irish Sunset
Autumn 2006
The tart juices of apricots and lemons are smoothed out by the light, alluring taste of Irish whiskey in this delicious, sophisticated cocktail. The grenadine adds sweetness, as well as the beautiful blood orange hue.
1½ oz Jameson Irish whiskey
Juice of 1/8 lemon
3 to 4 oz apricot juice
1 tsp grenadine
Garnish
Apricot slice, or a maraschino cherry
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1½ oz Jameson Irish whiskey, the juice of 1/8 lemon, 3 to 4 oz apricot juice and 1 tsp grenadine. Shake until icy cold and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an apricot slice, or a maraschino cherry if desired.
