Pear Today, Gone Tomorrow

Sweet and full of flavour, pears are a unique and delightful addition to your cocktail repertoire. These Daiquiri variations will help you hold on to the last vestiges of summer - a little bit of sunshine in a glass! As the weather cools, ripe pears can be chopped, peeled and stored in the freezer, or canned pears can also be used.
2 cups ice
2 pears, peeled, chopped
1½ oz white rum
½ oz Amaretto
1 oz lime juice, fresh
1 to 3 tsp superfine sugar
Pear slice
1. In a blender, add ice, pears, peeled and chopped, rum and Amaretto, fresh lime juice and superfine sugar (to taste).
2. Blend until smooth. Pour into a Margarita glass and garnish with a pear slice.
