Caramel Pears

Use firm but ripe pears, preferably Bartletts.

Serves 6

3 tbsp (45 mL) melted butter
1⁄4 cup (50 mL) sugar
2 tbsp (25 mL) whipping cream
3 pears, peeled and cut in quarters

1. Combine butter, sugar and cream in a skillet and bring to boil over medium-high heat. Toss in pears. Bring to simmer, reduce heat and cook while shaking pan for 12 to 15 minutes or until pears are soft and the sauce is caramelized.
