Canadian Tundra
Winter 2016
Canadian whisky is simmered with cranberries, apple juice and maple syrup for a delicious and quintessentially Canadian cocktail.
Makes approx. 9 servings
To a slow cooker or large pot, add 2 cups (500 mL) Canadian whisky, 1 cup (250 mL) fresh or frozen cranberries, ½ to ¾ cup (125 to 175 mL) maple syrup (to taste), 2 cups (500 mL) cranberry juice and 3 cups (750 mL) fresh (cloudy) apple juice. Add 1 orange sliced in wheels, 1 lemon sliced in wheels and 3 cinnamon sticks. Heat, but do not allow to boil, allowing the liquid to warm for at least 15 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon into cups and garnish each with a cinnamon stick.
