Macchiato Martini

A Macchiato Martini—a blend of espresso and vodka with a float of cream liqueur on top—makes for a wonderful after-dinner drink this holiday season. With a variety of cream liqueurs available, experiment with your favourite to customize your martini. Enjoy alongside a piece of Toasted Hazelnut & Dark Chocolate Butter Crunch.

Recipe
1 oz espresso
¾ oz vodka
½ oz coffee liqueur
½ oz simple syrup
Crushed ice for serving
¾ oz Irish cream liqueur

Add the espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake to combine. Fill a tumbler with crushed ice. Strain mixture over ice. Add cream liqueur or float the cream liqueur on top by pouring gently over the back of a spoon to swirled effect.
