There is a new red Bordeaux blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Cabernet Franc, the new top-of-the-range 2021 Marqués de Casa Concha Heritage. It was produced with grapes from 52.95 hectares from the ungrafted vines from El Mariscal Vineyard, mostly ungrafted in Puente Alto in Maipo. It fermented in stainless steel with selected yeasts followed by malolactic in tank and 16 months in French oak barrels, 35% of them new. It's ripe at 14.8% alcohol and has good acidity and freshness. It has textbook aromas of a Bordeaux blend, with the freshness of the high percentage of Cabernet Franc and with gentler tannins. It's more elegant than the Master Edition from this same vintage that is also from the Mariscal Vineyard but from grafted vines.
