Apostolos Thymiopoulos is one of the stars of the Greek winemaking scene, and this incredible value everyday wine demonstrates why. The fruit is from young vines grown on schist, granite and limestone, and vinified without oak. The wine is fermented in tank with indigenous yeasts, and ages for eight months in concrete tanks before being bottled. Like a cross between a Nebbiolo and a Pinot Noir in character, it's bursting with vibrant wild strawberry fruit, with rosehip fragrance and a hint of sundried tomato. Fresh and seductive, this is hard to resist. I usually serve it very slightly chilled. Drinking window: 2020-2021. Score - 92. (Amy Wislocki, decanter.com, June 20, 2020)
