To a highball glass, add 2 to 3 fresh strawberries, chopped, and 1 basil leaf, torn. Muddle the fruit and the basil well. Fill the glass with ice and add 2 oz amber rum. Stir well. Top with 3 to 4 oz ginger beer and stir again. Garnish with a strawberry slice.
