Mike Soulard, bar manager of the Empire Grill in Ottawa, created this cocktail for Food & Drink.

5 oz Metromint
1 oz citrus Vodka
½ oz melon liqueur
3 lime wedges
4 mint sprigs
Melon balls

1. In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 oz Metromint, the vodka, liqueur, lime wedges, 3 mint sprigs and ice, then shake well.

2. Fill a Collins glass with ice, strain contents of cocktail shaker into glass. Add more ice, top up glass with remaining Metromint.

3. Remove all but the top leaves from remaining mint sprig, then thread melon ball onto stalk and use to garnish drink.
