We are committed to transparency in communicating with our employees and the public. We are providing updates as we become aware of confirmed cases. Click here for details. When we are informed of confirmed cases, we will take appropriate action immediately, which may include temporarily closing the store for additional deep cleaning, contacting all impacted employees, and connecting with local Public Health officials. Should we receive additional direction from officials including specific notification required to our customers, we will act immediately and accordingly.
We are monitoring this situation very closely and are putting systems in place to help support our employees. We also remind customers of the actions we’ve already implemented to ensure a safe shopping experience.
Changes to Store Operations
Our previously announced changes to our retail operations remain in place. All LCBO stores will be closed on Mondays. Our reduced hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. remain in effect from Tuesday to Sunday.
As this situation evolves, some LCBO stores may need to close without notice, adjust their hours and/or days of operation. We apologize for any inconvenience.
LCBO Convenience Outlets authorized to sell beverage alcohol are privately owned and business hours may vary.
Changes to the Shopping Experience
The LCBO has been adopting measures to protect staff and customers as COVID-19 progresses. Steps to-date include:
Increased cleaning and sanitization and measures that support physical distancing
Managing traffic flow within our stores to avoid crowding and marking points within the store as guidance for staying recommended distances apart. These safety measures may lead to longer wait times and force us to temporarily restrict store access if the traffic does not allow us to meet the standards of physical distancing.
The current roll out of plexiglass barriers at cash desks across our retail network.
We also appreciate the heightened awareness to protect one’s self, especially in a role involving customer service and for the benefit and comfort of LCBO employees we will be providing protective face shields as an optional preventative measure. LCBO retail staff may choose to wear face shields while serving customers to protect their eyes, mouth and nose from the transfer of droplets and to help deter unnecessary touching of the face.
How You Can Help
These actions do not take the place of preventative measures recommended by Public Health officials. Help us keep everyone safe by doing the following:
If you are in isolation or self-isolation or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please do not visit our stores, but rather make alternate arrangements through family or friends.
We strongly encourage our customers to pay with debit or credit to reduce handling of cash.
We also ask that you pack your own reusable bag.
- We are all witnessing moments of kindness and community support in helping people stay home. If you are shopping with us, maybe pick up what a friend, family or neighbour might need and deliver it to them.
Be patient and kind to our staff, our security team, and each other and be sure to express your appreciation every chance you get!
Pick-Up & Delivery Options
Buying online is still an option, however we are unable to confirm delivery dates. Canada Post has suspended home delivery of packages requiring proof of age, meaning that you will need to go to your nearest Canada Post depot to pick up your order. Customers who are sick, or in self-isolation, should make arrangements with someone else for pickups.
Foodora delivery, LCBO’s On Demand Delivery partner, is available in some communities. Visit foodora.ca to see if it’s available in your area.
In-store pick-up of online orders and Foodora delivery will not be available when our stores are closed on Mondays.
We are not accepting any in-store product returns but hold on to your product and receipt and they will be honoured at a later date.
While we are open, this is not business as usual. We are grateful for your continued understanding and patience and we will continue to update our customers about any other operational changes.
