SINGLE-USE PAPER BAGS NO LONGER AVAILABLE AT THE LCBO FROM SEPTEMBER 5

August 8, 2023 – Toronto – Further to the announcement that we are phasing out paper bags from LCBO retail stores, LCBO advises customers that paper bags will no longer be available in stores from September 5.

Customers are encouraged to bring a reusable bag, or alternatively they may purchase a reusable bag, to transport their purchases home.

This initiative will help to minimize our impact on the environment and create a more sustainable Ontario. We thank our customers for helping us to take better care of the planet.

Additional background on LCBO’s bag options

• A 6 bottle bag and a large reusable bag are available for $2.95. Meanwhile, a new 2 bottle reusable bag will be available in early September for $1.25. These bags are made from recycled water bottles.

• A 4 pocket organic cotton bag is available for $14.95

• Our 8-pack carriers and used cardboard boxes are a free option for customers.

Gift bags remain available in store for our customers’ special occasions and seasonal bags are available for limited periods throughout the year.
