INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 RAPID TESTING KITS AT LCBO RETAIL LOCATIONS

Thursday, December 16, 2021 – Toronto – The LCBO supports the provincial government’s announcement related to the availability of free take-home rapid test kits at select retail stores and is pleased to provide more information about test distribution through our network.

  • Beginning as early as today, an allocation of rapid tests kits will start to be available on a first-come, first-served basis at 100 LCBO stores across the province.
  • Anyone without symptoms or who has not recently been in contact with someone with COVID-19 is eligible to receive a free take-home rapid test kit.
  • Rapid tests will be available at the checkouts of participating stores. We ask that customers line up to get a test kit, even if they are not purchasing a product, to maintain an orderly and safe retail experience for our customers and employees.
  • We also ask that our customers only take one test kit at any one time, noting that there are several tests in each kit, to ensure fair distribution.
  • The LCBO will not be administering tests.

The availability of rapid-test kits at LCBO is one part of the government’s enhanced testing strategy to provide up to two million rapid tests, free of charge, to communities across the province.

We thank our customers in advance for their patience and understanding and will share updates on kit availability across our stores. We also offer a reminder that all in-store health and safety measures, including physical distancing and mask requirements, remain in place and to extend kindness to your local LCBO teams.
