Retsina is based on an ancient style of wine that can be traced back to around the second century BCE. Retsina's famous pine aromas and flavours are achieved by fermenting the wine with fresh pine resin, which is removed later in the winemaking process. Retsina can be made from several of Greece's white grapes. This one is made from Savatiano, Greece's most planted grape. Retsina is a unique, versatile style; try it with grilled sardines or roast lamb.
