Cloudsley is a new, small winery project focused only on Niagara pinot noir. Glen Elgin is a block planted in 1996 within the larger and increasingly famous Wismer Vineyard in Twenty Mile Bench. It is a very pretty, refined pinot - less floral and raspberry-like than the other Cloudsley bottlings, with more classic sour cherry nicely meshed with dried herbs, judicious oak and spice. It is mid-weight with firm, drying tannin, very good flavour intensity and depth. It stays nicely focused. You might want to age it a year or three - it has more stuffing, but is not heavy. A more savoury interpretation. Excellent length. Score - 92. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, June 11, 2018)
