The white 2018 Viña Real Barrel Fermented, also labeled as Viña Real Fermentado en Barrica in the Spanish-speaking countries, is 100% Viura from a late harvest that managed to keep moderate alcohol and good freshness. Some 50% of the must fermented with dry yeasts in a diversity of oak barrels, and the wine matured with the lees that were periodically stirred for four months. The oak is very subtle and feels quite integrated and neatly folded into the fruit. In fact, it's quite fresh and fruit-driven, easy to drink, subtle and with just a spicy twist.
