Let's get started. This single malt would make a great aperitif. Whiskey connoisseur Michael Jackson, in his Malt Whisky Companion, describes it as smooth and light-bodied; very pale greeny-gold in colour, like a Fino sherry; with a linseed oil nose and malty, drying finish. Again, like a lightly nutty, dry sherry. 'Less of a Highland malt than a very good Lowlander.'
Aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels, not chill filtered and bottled at higher alcohol. Elegant aromas and flavours of sweet malt, tropical fruity, caramel and spice with hints of toasted grain, orange marmalade and smoke. Soft and rounded on the palate with light spicy wood notes on the finish. Best enjoyed neat.
