Viña Aquitania Lazuli Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Lazuli's first vintage was the 2002, and in the early years it was made with a combination of fruits from the winery's vineyards in Macul and Isla de Maipo. Since 2011, however, 100% of Lazuli, Aquitania's top wine, comes from its own vineyards in Macul, a historic zone in the Alto Maipo, near the foot of the Andes. Following the winery's cabernet route, which begins with the Aquitania Cabernet, followed by Paul Bruno, and culminating here, you can see clear connections that speak of a place in which Lazuli expresses itself with crystalline clarity. Earthy and menthol aromas, ripe red fruits, herbal touches that unfold elegantly on the palate over soft and highly polished tannins. The acidity is sharp and refreshing, with an herbal and mentholated finish. In what may well be the best vintage of the decade, Lazuli shines.
