Not quite in the same league as the brilliant 2015, but that's understandable given the very different vintage conditions in 2016. Youthful, intense and firm, with lots of freshness and acidity, firm, layered, sinewy tannins and assertive new wood. Cabernet Franc-based, with 48% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this needs more time in bottle. Drink date: 2022-2028. Score - 93. (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, South Africa Special Report 2020)
