The 2016 Grande Reserva Portas da Herdade (Herdade da Farizoa) is a blend of 40% Aragonez and 30% each of Syrah and Alicante Bouschet aged for 18 months in used French oak. It comes in at 14.9% alcohol. The best wine from the producer this issue, this has plenty of concentration, a fair bit of power and mouth-coating fruit. Long and flavor-filled on the finish, it shows a bit of a meaty touch. It's quite a mouthful too. This is intriguing, delicious and likely to age well. It should be approachable young, though. Drink date: 2019-2032. Score - 92. (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, Aug. 30, 2019)
