This a blend of merlot and sangiovese ... you must appreciate the edginess that the Piemonte perspective brings. It is high acid, fairly prosciutto/meatiness, herbal and funky on the nose and palate, yet the depth, intensity and length are impressive. Acid is brittle. Tannins are rigid; the length is excellent.
