The grapes for the 2017 Cabernet Franc Limited Edition were picked almost four weeks earlier than in the late 2016 harvest! Like the rest of the range, it's not a pure varietal and contains 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Vinification and élevage was like the rest of the range, in stainless steel and 14 months in barrel. This has the light and air of the wines from the house and a special quality the Cabernets seem to get there, in a very pleasant mixture of herbal and spicy aromas with floral ones and something peachy and juicy, developing hints of iron as the wine sits in the glass. There is no sensation of ripeness or heat despite the natural conditions of the vintage. The tannins are fine, and it has more tension than the Cabernet Sauvignon in this same range and vintage. 27,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2019. Drink date: 2020-2024. Score - 92+.
