This is a very fine, single-vineyard chianti classic that is mostly (80%) sangiovese, with four other varieties in support. The flavours are quite gorgeous, with well-defined red and black fruit and some spiciness at the core of a complex flavour profile. The acidity is perfectly tailored to the fruit. There's still a little grip in the tannins, but the wine is drinking beautifully now and will easily hold its attractive freshness to the mid-2020s. Score - 93. (rodphillipsonwine.com, undated)
