Uruguay's take on Tannat offers a more robust and muscular tannic structure than those crafted in Madiran in the south of France. In the hands of producers such as Juan Carrau, Uruguayan Tannat offers complex floral, leather, berry, earth and spice and balances the grape's characteristic tight tannins with a bright, fresh acidity. A fine value and a good option for rare roast beef.
