The 2018 Pinot Noir Estate Block 8 is rich, sensual and beautifully layered in the glass. A wine of sensuality and texture, the Block 8 is another stellar wine in the Hirsch range. Time in the glass brings out kirsch, cinnamon, cedar, new leather and blood orange nuances that lend an exotic flair. I would cellar the 2018 for at least a few years, as it needs time to be at its best. The 2018 is positively stellar, even in the early going. The Block 8 Pinot is a blend of five parcels, each vinified separately, done with 30% stems that are not at all evident. Drinking window: 2025-2038. Score - 96.
