The 2018 Single Vineyard Carmenere comes from grapes harvested on the 7th of May (late in a cool year, but earlier than in the past) from Block 28 in their La Rinconada estate in the Peumo zone of Cachapoal. It fermented with neutral selected yeasts and matured for 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% new (down from 80% new the previous year). It has the spicy profile of the variety and is herbal and spicy, keeping the freshness and balance. It has fine-grained tannins and good balance in the new style of fresher Carmenere. It was bottled in September 2019. Drink: 2020-2023. Score - 89. (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Feb. 28, 2020)
