From grapes grown partly on large pebbles, partly on sand, all destemmed then vinified in stainless steel. It's aged 70% in old barriques and 30% in stainless steel for 12 months before release. The black fruit scents are riven with deeply savoury dried herbal notes. The palate is full-bodied but with a good sense of energy thanks to firm acids, tight tannins and inner freshness. This should build complexity as it ages, and will last well. Likely to be a good value option. Drinking window: 2022-2032. Score - 93. (Matt Kettman, decanter.com, Oct. 31, 2018)
