A wine of depth and layered intensity, the 2014 Giramonte is absolutely fabulous today. Grilled herb, licorice and spice bring a distinctly savory, perfumed quality to this rich, Merlot based red. The 2014 is a bit tight today, but time in bottle should take care of that. The big, substantial finish suggests a bright future. Giramonte is mostly Merlot, with a dollop of Sangiovese. Drinking window: 2019-2029. Score - 94. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, March 2019)
