Perfect Pear Sangria
Early Summer 2008
Pears – fresh, in nectar form and in liqueur – imbue this Sangria with heady flavour and aroma
Makes 4 to 6 drinks
1 fresh green pear, skin on, chopped
1 fresh red pear, skin on, chopped
½ bottle dry white wine (such as Pinot Grigio)
4 oz Poire Williams
2 cups (500 mL) pear nectar
In a large glass pitcher, mix all ingredients. Let stand 4 to 12 hours in the refrigerator before serving. Pour into wine or Collins glasses and garnish with a slice of pear or star fruit.
