Made famous at the speakeasies of the 1920s and 30s, the Stinger became the cocktail of choice for celebrities in the literary set, from Somerset Maugham to Evelyn Waugh.

1 oz brandy or Cognac
1/2 oz white crème de menthe

  1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add brandy or Cognac and crème de menthe.
  2. Shake sharply and strain into a small Martini glass.
