Montenegro Amaro is a bitter digestif that works beautifully when paired with ruby port, the two playing off one another to great effect. Luxardo makes the best maraschino cherries—you can find them easily online or at shops specializing in cocktail paraphernalia.
1½ oz ruby port
½ oz each brandy
½ oz Montenegro Amaro
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine ruby port, brandy, and Montenegro Amaro. Stir until well chilled and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
