The 2017 Vintage Port Quinta do Porto is a blend of Touriga Nacional (48%), Touriga Franca (35%), old vines (14%) and Sousão for the rest. It comes in at 99 grams per liter of residual sugar. This was a day away from bottling when seen, but it was the final blend. More generous than the leaner Sandeman in the Sogrape stable this issue, it has every bit as much power and flavor. The intensity of flavor makes it hard to resist, but the structure proves that it needs a lot of time. Tight, gripping and badly in need of cellaring, this has plenty of room to grow in the cellar. It finishes with some austerity as it airs out and closes down a bit. Be patient. Some aeration made it a little more expressive, but only a little, and it was no less powerful at that point. Drink date: 2030-2070. Score - 94-96. (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, July 11, 2019)
