A little-known varietal, indigenous to the Marche and small areas of Lazio and Abruzzo, Passerina crafts medium-bodied, fresh whites that retain freshness, even in hot climates. This particular gem offers notes of ripe grapefruit, petrichor and lime on the nose. On the palate, the citrus replays, along with a hint of rosewater and some typistic almond. Stylistically reminiscent of quality Trebbiano, it is sleek and easy-drinking, but has the guts to stand up to a plate of pasta with anchovies. 90 pts Luca Maroni
