Clos Bel-Air 2016
Such a fine example of the merlot dominant blend of this estate offering characteristic richness laced with spice and tension from acid. Notes of pepper and musk give a seductive appeal that is sure to please widely. The tender fruit of merlot dominates this wine in the most elegant fashion. Tannins are still quite firm but the fruit is abundant and mouth-fillingly fleshy. A notable value not to be missed. A pleasure to drink right away with a short decant but with the stuffing to last another 3-4 years. Score - 90. (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, April 9, 2019)
