The Aperol Negroni

Bittersweet is the best word to describe this variation of the traditional Negroni.
Makes 1 cocktail
1. Measure equal amounts of Aperol, sweet white vermouth and gin into a mixing glass three-quarters filled with ice. Stir gently but thoroughly, then strain the cocktail into a tumbler containing one oversized ice cube.
2. Take a thick slice of orange and scorch it on the grill or with a blowtorch. Squeeze a few drops of juice from it into the drink, then use the slice to garnish the glass. An option—spritz up the cocktail with a splash of club soda.
