This golden drink was very fashionable in Paris during World War 1. Since it's sour, it's definitely due for a comeback. To add glamour, rub the rim of the glass with a lemon wedge and dip in sugar.
1 1/2 oz brandy
3/4 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp sugar
Garnish
Twist of lemon peel
1. Shake brandy, Cointreau, lemon juice and sugar vigorously with ice to dissolve the sugar.
2. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with lemon peel.
