Hot Buttered Rum

In colonial times, local taverns were dominated by huge fireplaces where a tool called a loggerhead would be heated to red-hot in the fire and plunged into cups of wine and spirits to heat the drinks.
Makes 1 drink
To a punch cup, add 1 tsp brown sugar (or to taste) and fill ⅔ full with boiling water. Add 1½ oz dark rum, 1 tbsp butter and stir. Sprinkle with ground nutmeg.
