Day-O Punch
Early Summer 2005
Makes approximately 12 servings
750mL bottle white wine
2 cups orange juice
4 oz lemon juice
1 cup pineapple chunks
½ cup brown sugar
3 bananas*
8 oz white rum
4 oz dark rum
2 oz triple sec
In a large pitcher, combine one 750mL bottle white wine, 2 cups orange juice, 4 oz lemon juice, 1 cup pineapple chunks, ½ cup brown sugar and 3 bananas*, peeled and sliced into 1-inch (2.5-cm) pieces. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Strain mixture into a large punch bowl filled with ice. Discard fruit. Add 8 oz white rum, 4 oz dark rum and 2 oz triple sec. Pour into a Collins glass filled with ice. Garnish with a fresh banana slice.
Note: Bananas may turn brown overnight, but they will not spoil.
