Cranberry Pomegranate Sauce

This unusual cranberry sauce tastes very cherry-like. It works wonderfully with all poultry. It keeps for 3 weeks.
Makes 1½ cups (375 mL) sauce
½ cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
1 cup (250 mL) pomegranate juice
2 cups (500 mL) cranberries
Place sugar and pomegranate juice in a pot over high heat. Bring to boil and boil for 2 minutes. Add cranberries, reduce heat to medium-low and cook until cranberries pop, about 8 to 10 minutes. Cool and refrigerate.
Makes 1½ cups (375 mL) sauce
