Cardamom Cocktail

This delectable cocktail is inspired by Indian chai tea, which combines spices and warm milk. Unbeknownst to most, some gins contain this slightly lemony spice as a key botanical. Highlighting its taste creates a cocktail to remember.

1-inch stick of cinnamon
6 cardamom pods
6 whole cloves
½ cup milk
3 tsp sugar (or to taste)
3 tsp loose black tea
1 oz vanilla liqueur
½ oz bourbon.

To a saucepan, add 1 cup water, a 1-inch stick of cinnamon, 6 cardamom pods and 6 whole cloves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and add ½ cup milk, 3 tsp sugar (or to taste) and 3 tsp loose black tea. Stir and remove from heat. Pour into 2 heatproof mugs and add 1 oz vanilla liqueur and ½ oz bourbon.
