That effervescence amplifies the rich scent, which is complex and calls to mind toasted brioche, apple pie, marzipan and a touch of sea salt. The attack is brisk and delicate yet tightly wound, beaming in then expanding with generous, intricate flavours. Baked apple and butter pastry, a touch of brown sugar, toasted almond, cool stone and lemon zest tease the senses. Then the long finish leaves the palate delightfully seasoned. Score - 93.
