Penfolds Winemaker Dinner with Peter Gago

Vintages welcomes Peter Gago to Harbour 60. Chief winemaker at Penfolds since 2002, Peter will lead us in an intimate tasting featuring a selection of some of Penfolds’s most notable wines. The evening will include, among others, the Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, the RWT Bin 798 Shiraz 2022, the Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz 2019 and the 2020 vintage of the celebrated Grange Shiraz; the wine that, in 1951, changed Australian premium winemaking forever.

You’ll have a chance to be the first in Ontario to taste and buy 15 of Penfolds’s Australian creations and one from their French operation: the exciting Cuvée Brut Champagne, produced in partnership with Champagne Thiénot.
 
Founded in 1844 and one of the pillars of modern Australian fine wine, Penfolds now spans four continents and continues to lead through their tradition of innovation, multi-regional blends, and the diverse ageing and maturation regimens their wines undergo.

Peter Gago began work as a math and science teacher before being lured into a new career by “the grip of the grape.” He has held the role of chief winemaker at Penfolds since 2002, and under his stewardship, the iconic wines produced by this renowned winery remain some of the most sophisticated, characterful and influential anywhere.
