Montagne-Saint-Émilion is the largest satellite appellation of Bordeaux’s famed Saint-Émilion, and its wines often show exceptional value. This ripe, rich example from visionary vigneron Jonathan Maltus boasts walnuts, chocolate, toasted oak and chewy, tasty savouriness, all at a fraction of the price of its notable neighbours.

Wine lovers rejoiced when Le Clos Jordanne resumed operations after a five-year hiatus. Now, five years after their triumphant return, they’re still wowing us with gems like this silky, savoury, elegant Pinot, with its notes of dark cherry, wild raspberry, spice and subtle cassis. Reunited, and it tastes so good.
