2 oz bourbon or Canadian whisky
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
3 oz chilled club soda
Lemon slice and Maraschino cherry for garnish
- Pour the whisky or bourbon, lemon juice and simple syrup into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with club soda and stir gently. Garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.

1 cup sugar
- Bring water to a boil. Stir sugar into the boiling water to dissolve, stirring constantly. When sugar has dissolved completely, cool syrup. Store in an airtight jar for up to 1 week.
