Fire up the grill – Aussie-style!

One of the most diverse wine scenes in the world, Australia is famous for crafting big, bold wines with lots of personality. From its most iconic varietal – fruit-forward Shiraz – to its rich, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon and smooth, balanced red blends, Australian wines offer incredible quality and amazing value. And they’re the perfect wines to enjoy with an Aussie-inspired barbecue. A way of life down under, this longstanding summer tradition is a time to enjoy casual, delicious foods grilled on the “barbie” with approachable, food-friendly wines amidst a fun, laid-back vibe that includes outdoor activities, like cricket and soccer. Bring that same easygoing spirit to your own backyard this summer with LCBO's outstanding collection of Australian wines and must-try recipes for an authentic feast.

This box of six wines includes Victoria Park Cabernet Sauvignon, Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz/Cabernet, Rosemount Diamond Shiraz, Yellow Tail Big Bold Red, Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz, Wakefield Estate Shiraz Clare Valley

Australia has more than earned its reputation for flavourful, appealing red wines with tons of personality. Our collection has six popular reds for you to enjoy this summer.

First up is Victoria Park Cabernet Sauvignon, a southern sipper with notes of black olive, mint and smoke that pair perfectly with grilled burgers and ribs. Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz/Cabernet is a delicious blend of two classic varietals, resulting in dark fruit, chocolate and herbal tones. Try it with pepper steak or chili. Another customer favourite is Yellow Tail Big Bold Red, with smooth, jammy notes paired with a bit of smoke and sweetness.

For Shiraz lovers, we have three exciting bottles. Rosemount Diamond Shiraz is bold and extra-dry, with dark rye bread, berry and citrus flavours that go well with smoked brisket sandwiches. For lush tannins and appealing aromas of black plum, hazelnut butter, blood orange and herbs, go for Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz. Wakefield Estate Shiraz Clare Valley is part of our Vintages selection and is ripe and rich with blackberry, blueberry and black pepper notes that go beautifully with lamb dishes.
