New Orleans Royale

Give your cocktail a French accent with this mash-up that combines the best of two fabulous classics: the French 75, a Parisian brunch staple, and the Sazerac, born in New Orleans. 

Hw to make this mash-up cocktail
Step 1

Swirl a few drops of absinthe in a chilled coupe glass. Don’t have absinthe? Feel free to skip it. Add 1 oz rye whisky and ½ oz simple syrup to a mixing glass or base of a cocktail shaker. 

Step 2

Add a couple of dashes of Peychaud's bitters and a dash of Angostura bitters. Fill with ice. Stir until chilled. Strain into the prepared glass.

Step 3

Top with a few ounces of sparkling wine. Garnish with lemon peel.
