Fruit With Punch

Inspired by the flavours of holiday fruitcake, these dried-fruit cocktails tap into their festive vibes, showcasing darker spirits and warming spices.

Date Old Fashioned

An Old Fashioned is usually “built” in the glass which simply means it's mixed right in its serving glass, but the method for making this cocktail employs a cocktail shaker. This infuses whisky with dates, which act as the sweetener here to replace the simple syrup or sugar cube in the traditional cocktail.

Suggested Serve

Bearface Triple Oak Canadian Whisky is matured in spicy Hungarian oak, red-wine French oak and Americanoak bourbon barrels. This complex, intricately blended corn whisky from B.C. has a luxurious finish that’s long on spice, toffee and dried fruit—perfect for a sipping cocktail like an Old Fashioned.

Figgy Pudding Cocktail

For this holiday dessert-inspired sipper, figs and sage are a flavour match made in heaven! Any type of fig jam or spread works here, including those flavoured with citrus or other fruits.

Suggested Serve

A bottle of rum that’s worth a fig: Appleton Estate 12 Year Old Rare Casks is luscious and tropical, with warm gingery tones and dried-fruit character to enhance this savoury drink.

Sugar Plum Fairy Cocktail

Herbaceous and perfectly bittersweet, this dark and complex cocktail is a bit brighter and crisper when bubbled with cava, and rounder and slightly sweeter when made using most Proseccos.

Suggested Serve

La Marca Prosecco DOC handily comes in half-size or full-size bottles, making four or eight cocktails respectively. Its delicate citrus and honey-nut tones are lovely in this cocktail.

Dried Cranberry Radler

Unsweetened cranberry juice creates a bright, tart radler-style drink, lightly enriched by muddling with dried cranberries. When you get garnishing, poke holes in fresh or frozen cranberries and thread on a short skewer or rosemary stalk.

Suggested Serve

Asahi Super Dry Japanese pale lager has just the crisp, light-bodied, cleanfinishing character and hardy carbonation that’s perfect for this dramatic-looking cocktail. De-alcoholized beer, such as Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0%, creates a non- alcoholic version that’s just as tasty and beautiful as the original!

Apple-Raisin Hot Toddy

When making this festively spiced cocktail, if you decide to toast cinnamon-bagel chips as a garnish, poke a hole in the middle of each one before toasting, so they can be easily threaded onto cocktail picks.

Suggested Serve

Take note, brandy makes a rich base for big-batch cocktails—the most well-known being Sangria—because it lends lots of depth just like it has this twist on a hot toddy. St-Rémy Signature will bring added fruit notes along with hit s of vanilla and spice.
